Zócalo has been a gathering spot where Atlanta locals and visitors experience authentic Mexican cuisine and warm hospitality since 1995. Nestled in the vibrant Midtown neighborhood, this family-owned Mexican restaurant is a true reflection of the Martinez family’s passion for sharing their heritage through food.
It all began when siblings Chef Lucero Martinez and her brothers Marco and Luis noticed something missing in the city, a genuine taste of home. Hence, they transformed the last garage bay of an old gas station into what is now Zócalo. The Martinez named their restaurant “Zócalo”, because it means “town square”, the central place where everyone gathers. They decorated the space with colorful tiles and art from their parents’ hometowns in Guanajuato.
Over the years, they’ve been featured in national outlets such as Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and the Cooking Channel’s “Food Paradise”. Chef Lucero even brought her skills to the spotlight on Food Network’s “Chopped”.
For nearly three decades, Zócalo has proudly remained a local, family-owned, and minority-owned gem in Atlanta.

Golden, melty goodness! Stuffed with cheese and your choice of protein, this quesadilla comes with lettuce, pico de gallo, and crema on the side, perfect for dipping, scooping, and savoring.
Nachos
Loaded and layered to perfection. Piled high with queso, guacamole, crema, refried black beans, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and your choice of protein, these nachos are a must for sharing (or not!).
Flautas
Crispy rolled tortillas filled with pulled chicken, topped with crema, queso fresco, salsa verde, and a pop of pickled red onion. Crunchy on the outside, comforting on the inside.
Burrito
A hearty handheld classic. Wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, our burrito is packed with rice, beans, pico, shredded cheese, and your favorite protein. Big on flavor and, certainly, even bigger on satisfaction.
Birria Taco
This one’s a flavor bomb. Tender pulled beef barbacoa simmered in dried chiles and spices, tucked into a semi-crispy tortilla with melted cheese, onions, and cilantro. Juicy, cheesy, and totally crave-worthy.
Birriapizza
A bold mashup of birria and pizza. Layers of pulled beef barbacoa, melty cheese, onions, and cilantro on a crispy base, served with a rich consommé for dipping. It’s cheesy, meaty, and wildly satisfying.
Torta Cubamex
This is the Zócalo’s twist on a Cuban-Mexican sandwich, Telera bread loaded with ham, chorizo, and carnitas, plus asadero cheese, avocado chipotle mayo, refried beans, and spicy chiles toreados. It’s stacked, smoky, and seriously delicious.
Tostada
Crunchy, fresh, and full of flavor. A crispy corn tortilla topped with refried beans, chicken tinga, lettuce, pico, crema, queso fresco, and avocado. A great balance of textures and tastes.
Molcajete Carmelita (Serves Two)
The ultimate feast for two! A sizzling stone bowl filled with grilled steak, tomatillo sauce, spicy chorizo, grilled onions, roasted serranos, and asadero cheese. Comes with warm tortillas to scoop and wrap all that goodness.
Mole Zócalo
Tender chicken breast served with fragrant Mexican rice, queso fresco, sweet plantains, and a rich, complex mole topped with toasted sesame seeds. Deeply traditional and deeply comforting.
Enchiladas
Rolled tortillas bathed in your choice of housemade red or green sauce, then topped with crema, queso fresco, and served with rice, beans, and your favorite protein. A Mexican classic done right.
Steak Fajitas
Sizzling steak strips with colorful bell peppers and onions, served alongside pico de gallo, guacamole, crema, rice, beans, and flour tortillas. Build your own bites, fajita-style!
Desserts

Golden, cinnamon-dusted fried dough served warm with vanilla ice cream and rich chocolate sauce. An irresistible sweet, crunchy treat.
Tres Leches
A moist and dreamy three-milk cake with a dusting of Abuelita chocolate on top. Creamy, sweet, and the perfect ending to your meal.
Drinks
Zócalo Margarita
Our house margarita keeps it classic and clean with Tequila Blanco, Triple Sec, a touch of agave nectar, and fresh lime juice. It’s crisp, citrusy, and just the right amount of sweet.
Premium Margarita
This elevated take features smooth Reposado tequila, bright lime, and agave for a deeper, more mellow flavor. A go-to for those who like their margaritas with a little more character.
Cadillac Margarita
When you want to go all out, this one’s the move. Tequila Reposado, lime, and agave get a splash of Grand Marnier for a rich, orange-kissed finish. It’s smooth, luxurious, and totally worth it.
Mezcalita Picante
Smoky, spicy, and seriously sippable. This mezcal-based margarita brings 400 Conejos Espadín together with muddled serrano, lime, and a hint of sweetness. It’s got a kick, and we mean that in the best way.
Sangría
Our red sangría is fruity and festive with a blend of red wine, brandy, pineapple, and triple sec. It’s light, juicy, and perfect for sharing.
Frozen Margarita
Cool down with a frozen twist on the classic! Available in Mango, Passionfruit, or Strawberry, each one is fruity, fun, and dangerously refreshing.
Paloma
A bright and bubbly refresher made with Dulce Vida grapefruit tequila, fresh grapefruit and lime juice, a drizzle of agave, and fizzy grapefruit soda. Light, zesty, and oh-so-drinkable.
Michelada
Spicy, savory, and totally satisfying. We mix your favorite beer with bold Mexican spices and fresh lime juice to create this classic beer cocktail with a twist.
Mezcal Mule
This smoky-meets-sweet cocktail brings together 400 Conejos Mezcal, Chinola passion fruit liqueur, lime, agave, and zingy ginger beer. A tropical take on the traditional mule.
Espresso Martini
Yes, we gave it a Mexican twist! Reposado tequila meets espresso liqueur, agave, and our house espresso blend for a smooth, rich pick-me-up. It’s the perfect blend of bold and boozy.
